PRECEPT FOR 2026-2027

Due to an objection by a resident to PFK Littlejohn; the  External Auditor for the Council's Accounts in 2024-2025 and the ongoing investigations by them.  The Parish Council has had no choice but to raise the Precept substantially.  We are unaware of the full amount due to PFK Littlejohn as they have a backlog of work however, the Council has to be prepared for a substantial invoice which it did not budget for.

The Parish Council has had to make the extremely hard and difficult decision to increase the Precept it levies on its residents by approximately £13.04p based on a band "D" household.  This represents a 32.8% increase.

It was resolved that a £10.00 per levy be placed onto every household to pay for the prospect of an objection to the Council's Accounts on a yearly basis.

IF the Council does not take proactive action then, the Council will not be able to maintain its assets or look after the village and play equipment.

Members are acutely aware of the disappointment and frustration our community will feel and we sincerely apologise that this increase in Precept has had to be made.
